These are offered in Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s answer to the famous savanna reserves of Kenya, Tanzania and the like. There is a chain of low mountains to the west of the park, an extensive wetland to the east with a complex of a dozen lakes linked by the extensive papyrus swamps and water channels fed by the Kagera River. There are plenty of animals around with the likes of zebra, elephant, buggalo, giraffe, hippo and various antelopes all reasonably visible. The lakes in the park support some of the highest concentrations of hippo you will find anywhere in Africa, together with numerous large crocodiles. Lions, spotted hyena, and leopards are still present in small numbers. About 550 species of birds are present in this savanna game park. Indulge in one of our wildlife safaris to Akagera and enjoy the off-the-beaten-track chuck of bush the park has to offer.
